History

Warren Katz started his business Wrenn Associates, Inc. in 1960, coming to Reston in the early sixties when Robert Simon began his dream town of Reston, Virginia. Mr. Katz concentrated his business on the Hemingway, Woodstock Cluster and Belcastle Court communities, designing and building high quality custom townhouses and single-family homes. Belcastle homes have brick with cedar or Hardie cement siding exteriors with cedar shake or composite shake-like roofs and copper trim.

Association Startup

The homes were constructed between the years of 1992 to 1994, the Association was incorporated in the Commonwealth of Virginia on January 27, 1992 and the initial Board of Directors established in June 1994.

Assessment / Dues:

Quarterly: due January 1st, April 1st, July 1st & October 1st.

The Belcastle Association’s accounting year is from January 1 – December 31st.

Services:

Trash Pickup

Trash – Monday and Thursday

Recycling – Monday

We do not provide services on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas, and New Year’s Day or any other time the disposal facilities are closed.

Yard Debris (during yard waste season March 1st – December 24th) – Wednesday

Xmas tree pick up the first two Wednesdays in January

Snow Plowing Services

Snow plowing services begin after accumulation reaches a minimum of two (2) inches at Dulles weather station. Areas to be plowed include entrance, roadway, three guest parking areas, residential driveways, sidewalks and path to lake. With the exception of residential driveways, minimal amount of sand to be applied to entrance roadway, guest parking areas; path to lake and curb areas in front of mailboxes.

Lawn and Landscape Maintenance Program

Contracted services for BCCA landscape maintenance include grass cutting for both residential and common grounds, liming, core aeration and over seeding. Pre-emergent and broadleaf control twice a year, and application of early fall and late fall fertilizer. The contracted maintenance program also includes, spring clean up, spading, weeding and mulching of common areas, as well as broad leaf weed control, pruning, insect control of trees and shrubs, and planting of summer and fall entrance annuals. Leaf removal service for residential and common areas is provided three times during the fall/winter season.
